Mr. Indrajith Boyagoda

Indrajith Boyagoda is a seasoned banker counting over 30 years in the industry which he brings to the role as Secretary General at SLBA through which he joins the Board of Lanka Clear as an observer. During his tenure in Banking, he had covered Banking Operations, Corporate & Financial Institution Credit, Relationship Management, Treasury, Capital Markets, Investment Banking plus Audit and Risk Review both in Sri Lanka and overseas. Upon graduation from University of Peradeniya, he joined Citibank N.A. Colombo in 1993 as a Management Trainee and progressed to be the Country Treasurer / Vice President of Citibank N.A. Colombo in 2003. He left Sri Lanka in 2006 to join Samba Financial Group (formally Saudi American Bank) where he worked till 2012 by which he was the Program Director – Treasury & Capital Markets of the Audit and Risk Review Division. Returning back to Sri Lanka in 2012, he assumed duties as the Deputy General Manager - Treasury and Investment Banking at Nations Trust Bank Colombo a position he held till his retirement in 2022. Post retirement, Indrajith engaged in consulting assignments, lecturing Financial Economics as an external faculty at the University of Colombo, serving as a Faculty Board Member at University of Peradeniya and an Independent Board Director of a Sri Lankan Finance Company.

Mr. Boyagoda holds a B.Sc. (Chemistry Sp.) (hons) from University of Peradeniya in addition to a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Economics and an M.A. (Econ) from University of Colombo. He assumed the current role as the Secretary General (Designate) of SLBA on 1st Oct 2024.
