The inception of the Common ATM Switch in 2013 marked a pivotal moment within LankaPay's ecosystem, serving as the foundational element of the Common Card & Payment Switch (CCAPS). Since its launch, this network has achieved remarkable growth, establishing connectivity with an impressive 99.95% of all ATMs nationwide. Operating incessantly, 24/7/365, it offers uninterrupted accessibility to financial services for customers across the country. This robust infrastructure empowers financial institutions to offer enhanced convenience to their clientele, enabling them to utilize any ATM effortlessly, thus facilitating seamless cash withdrawals and account inquiries at a cost-effective rate.
You have the option to become either a primary member or a secondary member of LankaPay CAS. Please refer below for eligibility criteria.
Any licensed commercial bank or licensed specialized bank participating in the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) system of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) may become a member of the LankaPay - CAS as a primary member.
This entails executing the LankaPay - CAS primary membership agreement, subject to obtaining prior authorization from CBSL and LankaPay to participate in the LankaPay - CAS as a Primary Member.
LankaPay - CAS primary members will undergo a certification process conducted by the LankaPay Certification Centre.
Any legal entity operating in Sri Lanka, not participating in the Real Time Gross Settlement system of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, may qualify for membership in the LankaPay - CAS as a secondary member.
This entails executing the LankaPay - CAS secondary membership agreement, subject to obtaining prior authorization from CBSL and LankaPay to participate in the LankaPay - CAS System as a secondary member.
LankaPay - CAS secondary members also will undergo a certification process conducted by the LankaPay Certification Centre. Additionally, each LankaPay - CAS secondary member will enter into an Agreement with a LankaPay - CAS primary member to facilitate participation in the LankaPay - CAS System.
