LankaPay and partners honour KDU Bursar Mr. N. Wasantha Wimalaweera upon retirement

LankaPay, together with the Ministry of Digital Economy and ICTA, recently paid a heartfelt tribute to the outgoing Bursar of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Mr. N. Wasantha Wimalaweera, who is retiring after an illustrious administrative career at the University, in recognition of his invaluable contribution to driving digitalization at KDU.

KDU is among the pioneering government institutions to join GovPay. Under Mr. Wimalaweera’s leadership and unwavering support, KDU emerged as the largest contributor by transaction value to GovPay. He played a defining role in accelerating digital payment adoption within the University, setting a benchmark for how convenience and innovation can drive operational efficiencies.

The occasion was graced by Rear Admiral H.G.U. Dammika Kumara, Vice Chancellor of KDU; Mr. Dinuka Perera, Deputy Chief Executive Officer – LankaPay; Mr. Sumudu Rathnayaka, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Economy, along with representatives from LankaPay and ICTA.
